About
Jasmine Ward is a New York City based performer working across dance, musical theater and film/TV. Currently she’s dancing with The Metropolitan Opera and has appeared in productions including Aida (choreography by Alexei Ratmansky), The Magic Flute and Onegin.
She has also appeared as a principal dancer in Future’s Crushed Up music video, in addition to performing with the artist on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Additional performance credits include New York Theatre Ballet, Brooklyn Ballet, Ballet Next, and The Black Iris Project.
Her acting work includes performing in Little Dancer directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman, appearing on the Investigation Discovery’s Evil Lives Here, and playing Pecola Breedlove in The Bluest Eye at the Arden Theatre Company.
“The irony and perfect point of the casting is that the actor/dancer Jasmine Ward is quite lovely and graceful, as well as being excellent in the role.”
The Philadelphia Inquirer
“There is heartbreaking vulnerability in Jasmine Ward’s portrayal of ill-faded Pecola.”
Talkin' Broadway
“Ward is a revelation, bringing depth and heartbreak to Pecola…a performance that steals your heart.”
